ng katawan, partikular sa mga CD4 (o T-cell) white blood cells. Ang mga cells na ito ay mahalaga sa paglaban sa mga impeksyon, at kapag bumaba ang bilang nila, ang immune system ay humihina. Ang pagtaas ng kahinaan ng katawan ay maaaring magdulot ng mga sakit tulad ng tuberculosis, impeksyon, at ilang kanser.
