What is it?
A pregnancy test kit is a simple, convenient tool that helps you determine if you’re pregnant by detecting the presence of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. This hormone is produced by the body shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining and is a reliable indicator of early pregnancy.
How to use it?
- Mid-Stream Wand Type: This type of test is user-friendly. Simply hold the absorbent tip of the wand under your urine stream for a few seconds. The test will then display results in the designated window within a few minutes. The mid-stream type is often preferred for its convenience, as it eliminates the need for collecting a urine sample in a separate container.
- Cassette Type: With the cassette-type test, you’ll need to collect a small urine sample in a clean container. Using a dropper provided with the kit, place a few drops of urine onto the testing area of the cassette. After a few minutes, the results will appear in the designated window. This type is ideal for those who want more control over the testing process.
Both mid-stream and cassette-type pregnancy tests are highly accurate, with most claiming around 99% accuracy when used correctly. However, several factors can impact accuracy, such as the timing of the test and following instructions properly. Testing too early may lead to a false negative, so it’s often recommended to test at least a week after a missed period for the most accurate result.
With either type of pregnancy test kit, you’ll have a reliable, easy-to-use method to determine if you’re expecting.
Trust Reproductive Health Choices offer these two types of pregnancy test kits: TRUST Clear Check Cassette-type and TRUST Clear Check Mid-Stream Wand Type.
